The Blended Sense team has been working around the clock to understand, analyze, and strategize around the current landscape of digital marketing. Covid-19 has forever changed the game for businesses, brands, & products everywhere. Our team is committed to pioneering new ways by leaning into the opportunities, cultural shifts, and applying the best digital practices to continue making creative services accessible to the backbone (SMBS) of our local economy.

During the webinar our COO & Founder, Albert Baez, spoke with over 30 small business owners; talking through marketing pain points, content creation roadblocks, and most importantly - how to overcome all of this through intentional digital strategy. We’re going to be outlining the major takeaways from each section of the webinar for you. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

How to Create Content & Publish It

With the power that online marketing has today, a business owner can find themselves constantly second guessing the content that they put out. It can be hard to delineate which content is worth distribution. Albert put it in perspective like this: “Everything’s changed but people are still the same; there needs to be a social interaction before a business transaction.” Your content IS social. Don’t be afraid to get personal with your content, as this will create a lasting bond with your audience.

Takeaways

  • Capture moments that matter
  • Differentiate yourself from the competition
  • Context is key
  • Elaborate on the why of your content. Be authentic
  • Give, give, give
  • Bring everything to the table - what can you offer to your audience?
  • Avoid confusion
  •  This is where context comes into play again, a lack of it can turn people off

Content is King, Distribution is Queen

Pay attention, because your content:distribution alignment is what will make or break your marketing strategy. As long as your content has context, it can be distributed and translated properly to all platforms. That’s right. All of them. Why? Because each platform has a unique audience that you can reach. People are still social, and they are looking to interact in a variety of different ways.

Takeaways

  • Distribution is FREE
  • Collaborations will be rewarded
  • There is a cultural shift happening, the time of “me, me, me” is gone
  • Next to people, content is the #2 asset that a businesses can invest in to sustain their business
  • Your content is what brings people in and gives your brand a social dynamic

Where Does Content Live?

  • Social media platforms

Social Design Thinking Through Content

We are all ‘designers’. Be mindful of your own role and your responsibility to both your audience, as well as society as a whole. How can you bring about change in your industry?

Takeaways

  • You need to live in the middle of these two:
  • Networks of influence: community networks, content networks, influencers
  • Word of mouth drivers: value exchanges, disruptive ideas, social proof, creative participation, simple advocacy
